Bible Study: The Holy Mass

The Holy Mass

“ [Jesus] took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.” (LK 22:19)

The sacrifice of the Mass is the source and summit of the Christian life, it is the celebration of heaven on earth. "The Mass is at the same time, and inseparably, the sacrificial memorial in which the sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated and the sacred banquet of communion with the Lord's body and blood." (CCC 1382)

Through this study we will learn of the direct connections of the Mass and the covenant of the Old and New Testaments. This study will enrich our perspective on the liturgy of the Word and the liturgy of the Eucharist.

Alongside to the Scriptural readings, we will be watching Bishop Robert Barron's video series on The Mass. It is encouraged that you purchase a study guide, by clicking here, but it is not necessary for you to fully partake in this Bible study.
