“Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Gen 4)

Join Frassati fellowship and one of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal for a FREE 7-week online encounter. This will be a thought-provoking, heart-rousing, soul-stirring, action-motivating expedition to put our Love in Action and become our Brother’s Keeper.

How does being a follower of Jesus affect my behavior and relationships with others? Is it enough just to keep the Ten Commandments? What about sins of omission? How does being a Catholic impact my life as a resident of a local community, an American citizen, a member of a global family? What do the parables of the Good Samaritan and the Rich Man and Lazarus have to say to me? Can love be expressed in politics, social coexistence, economics, international affairs? What does the biblical understanding of the human person mean for these spheres of life? How can the teachings of Jesus and the Church help me to understand and respond to the critical issues we are facing right now?

Every Wednesday over the next seven weeks (Jun 17 – Jul 29) we will be grappling with these questions and issues in “Love in Action: Being My Brother's Keeper,” a webinar on Catholic Social Teaching (CST).

  • 6/17/2020 -  Introduction and Background to Catholic Social Teaching

  • 6/24/2020 - Priorities and Principles

  • 7/1/2020 - The Human Person and the Family

  • 7/8/2020 - Human Work and Economic Life

  • 7/15/2020 - Politics and the Global Village

  • 7/22/2020 - The Environment and Peace

  • 7/29/2020 - Racism (and other current issues)

This is a FREE webinar on Catholic Social Teaching but you need to register to get access to the LIVE encounter. Click HERE to register. Please invite your friends and family to join us! For more information contact us at contact@frassati.nyc.

HOLY THURSDAY VIRTUAL VISIT TO SEVEN CHURCHES

Come watch and pray!

There is an international tradition of visiting the Altar of Repose at seven churches after the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday to "watch and pray.“

Since we physically cannot physically visit seven churches this year, we will virtually visit seven Adoration chapels around the world.

•At each of the seven "station" Adoration chapel visits, we will

•pray an Adoration prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

•read a Scripture passage, following our Lord’s journey from the Last Supper to Calvary

•spend a few minutes adoring our Lord in silence

After the final "station" we will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet together.

For anyone who is interested in remaining in prayer together, we will continue our Zoom Meeting for silent Adoration until 12:00 Midnight (EST)

ZOOM MEETING ID: 988-377-785 after the 9pm Rosary and Night Prayer

  • Scriptures for the Stations

First Station: Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22: 39–46)
Second Station: Jesus bound and taken before Annas (John 18: 19–24)
Third Station: Jesus taken before the High Priest, Caiaphas (Matthew 26: 57–65a)
Fourth Station: Jesus taken before Pilate (John 18: 33–37)
Fifth Station: Jesus taken before Herod (Luke 23: 6b–11)
Sixth Station: Jesus taken before Pilate again (Matthew 27: 22–26)
Seventh Station: Jesus given the crown of thorns and led to his crucifixion (Matthew 27: 27–31)

BE CONSUMED BY THE FIRE: SATURDAY, JUNE 9 FEAST OF IMMACULATE HEART OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

The Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary reminds us that it is urgently necessary in these times for the Blessed Virgin to have a powerful victory over evil: the triumph of the Immaculate Heart, the triumph of grace over sin, of light over darkness, of truth over error, of holiness over corruption, of peace over war and violence. “The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is necessary for the salvation of humanity, to show us Jesus, the blessed fruit of her womb” (St. John Paul II: Angelus, July 8, 1984).

Frassati Fellowship invites you for a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of SoHo, and a night of encountering Christ on Saturday, June 9. Once our Eucharistic Lord is on the altar, we will commence with a night of Adoration with praise and worship, Confessions, street evangelization, and intercessory prayer. Street evangelization teams will be at strategic locations around St. Patrick's Old Cathedral handing out Rosaries and inviting guests to write prayer intentions and spend time with our Lord. We are in need of volunteers to help usher Confession/Prayer lines, be part of the street evangelization teams, and help lead the Eucharistic hymns that will be sung during the procession.

Date/Time: Saturday, June 9, 5:30pm-10:30pm
Location: Shrine of the Most Precious Blood (109 Mulberry St., New York, NY 10013) & St. Patrick's Old Cathedral (273 Mott St., New York, NY 10012)
